well. for whoever said that rancid is not punk. is very strange indeed. last time i checked, tim armstrong came from operation ivy, and last time i checked... that was one of the best\origional punk bands around (back in the day too) next to decendents and the *** pistols.

i for one love punk rock. i also like irish folk rock punk stuff. flogging molly and the dropkick murphys are two of my favorite bands at this point in time. granted, its not punk rock, but its close enough.

thats my oppinion.. and i like it that way. if you want to claim punk rock is bad. then say that, but dont TELL me punk rock is dead. and dont tell me that blink 182 is punk rock. and lastly, rancid is as far away from emo and punk-pop or whatever as it has been. rancid is a fairly old band.

well i could rant for days. but ill stop here.

What are you talking about? Have you ever listened to sublime, a MUCH better band that was WAY more open about everything...

There are a TON of bands that are extremely open about what they do or have done...

And I personally don't think it's that great, it certainly doesn't make their(GD) music any better...

Yes Sublime's coo too. I wasn't employing that the references add listening enjoyment to their songs, its just that meth is pretty frowned upon, and most bands wouldn't embrace it as openly as they do. I think Sublime is great, and yeah they are open about their drugs and what not. But I remember GD back in the day, we listened to em at middle school assemblies and such. I didn't expect it, (being that young) and its like, finding out that a band that you've listened to for soo long, has open HARD drug references in it was just sorta coo. I mean we heard the line "F*'d up and spun out in my room" so many times and never thought anything of it. Until one day it hits you, and you sit back and think for a minute, "****, all that time, I never knew..." maybe I'm just weird like that, but its cool when any artist is real about their sh*t. To many fake *** boy and girl groups....
