Why are you blaming them for a law they did not make, sorry for you sister, but Florida is a no fault state because of all the tourist that visit everyday.
EDIT: Yes its gay that they want more money to work that day and NYPD doesn't even count that as a holiday. Mass cops are the highest paid b/c the cost of living up there is insane other than that I don't see any six figure cops anywhere unless they are high ranking.

Those cops didn't make that dumbass law, they just have to enforce it.

Also cops overall dont make crap for all they do; however, trying to get the extra pay this way is kinda wacked.

its was written into the new contract. By the Union who reps the cops. A lot of ppl who were killed in NY left from Boston. Almost everyone knows someone who was killed. and that was a trade off for other consations they did not get, like lower health costs and pay raises.

Im not defending them, it was a poor choice in compensation, but there is more to it then "we want 911 as a holiday."
