Grand National!!!

Wish it sat differently, and was a 2-door and had some kind of cosmetic connection to the original. Better be turbo'd.
Nah. Let's see that bish supercharged! A blower would look real nice out that hood...

Edit: From the website:

"Just the Facts:

•Buick is planning to reintroduce the Grand National, T-Type and GNX nameplates.

•The new models will ride on GM's rear-wheel-drive Alpha platform introduced in the Cadillac ATS sedan.

•The Grand National and T-Type models will likely use turbocharged V6s, while the GNX will most likely get GM's new LT1 V8."

I think people are remember those Grand nationals with rose tinted glasses. The super limited GNX was only 276 hp.

from Buick Grand National Specs | eHow.com

In 1982, a Grand National equipped with the 4.1 liter V6 cranked out 125 horsepower while those that used the carbureted 3.8 liter turbocharged engine generated 175 horsepower. The output improved considerably in the fuel-injected models, as the 1984 3.8 liter V6 cranked out 200 horses at 4,000 revolutions per minute (rpm) and 300 foot-pounds of torque at 2,400 rpm.

The addition of a turbo intercooler improved performance even further in 1986. In that year and in 1987, the Grand National cranked out 235 horsepower at 4,000 rpm and 330 foot-pounds of torque at 2,400 rpm. This car could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.0 seconds (I am betting that they mean 6.0)and cross the quarter-mile mark in 14.23 seconds with a speed of 98 mph.

The specially modified turbocharged Grand National GNX engine peaked at 276 horsepower at 4,400 rpm and 360 foot-pounds of torque at 3,000 rpm. According to the Muscle Car Club website, the Grand National GNX could sprint from 0 to 60 in 5.5 seconds and hit 103 mph by the time it passed the quarter-mile in 13.43 seconds.

That was amazing for day becasue the Ferrari Testarossa did 0-60 in 5.1. It is isn't hard to beat thos spects today. A v6 mustang is in the ballpark of the on GNX.

i like the chargers it's the challenger that they fucked, the thing is absolutely beautiful but it's slower than a herd of turtles stampeding through peanut butter.
I like the charger too but it should not hold the charger name. Granted the R/T and srt8 are fast as hell, they turned raw American muscle into a luxury sedan.

meh, ugly

meh.
you're giving generic motors too much credit

buicks will forever = old mans car

mushy suspensions

numb steering with no feedback

on/off brakes with no linearity and lots of fade when pushed

body roll till next week when clipping apexes

and to top it off who can forget the always geriatric styling

but hey your ass will feel like you are driving a couch

I agree with it all... yet I still own a 2005 Malibu, lol. It was only 5 g's, and it's the lowest maintenance vehicle I've ever owned. By far.

Still ugly, slow and boring, though. ...But at least it sounds pretty good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/suave.gif.858fc102f7646e678ee8af7e1fbc41d1.gif
