i miss highschool //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
it sucks not getting to see your freinds and stuff everyday
i just got into face book. its great for keeping touch with old friends.

I never walked. Watched my classmates do it and gave them all their deserved props...

6 weeks before my graduation i looked at my situation VERY critically. Although i and been in all the "super gay" and "unacceptably seperated" acclerated learning classes for much of highschool... i only chose to perform at a mediocre level. Well as graduation was approaching and university considerations... i realized that my GPA and class standing was not going to get me into ANY decent uni. Although i made the decision on my own,, my father, who is now a Dean concured and reccomended that I DROP out of highschool and use the clause that many universities have. That being, that if you can score over a 95% on your GED, you get conditional admission to the uni, with 98% and above, a full admission. (and no SAT)

I took that route. It was the best decision i could have ever made. Did my 4 years (acutallly 5) at Indiana University Bloomington as a jazz performance major,, spent a semester as a University of Miami student as an exchange student at Uppsala in Sweden, A extra minor degree in international and multicultural education from uppsala as well,,, a Masters Degree in Comparative American Studies from Uppsala in 2006, now am in the last stages (minus my internship) of completing a second masters degree in International Humanitarian Action via the ECHO funded NOHA network. My first term was in Uppsala, Sweden, I am now in Groningen Netherlands and will go from here to Columbia in NYC for a brief research term then to the internship and thesis!!

had i graduated with the academic credentials i had at the time in highschool in 1995, none of this would have happened.. Not to say everyone should take this path... but for some it might be the best choice (especially if you smoked so much of the nasty grass that you didnt even care!!))

that aside,,, i have so much respect for those that have done the highschool walk!! Highschool is a shitty time for many people and those that make it through, deserve the pomp and circumstance!! I flew half way around the workd to spend only 15 hours watching my baby brother graduate before i had to get right back on a plane. And i know how good commencement feels. At my undergrad commencement,, i was hungover and bored,, but the look on my mothers and grandmothers face made it all seem worth it!!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/graduate.gif.d982460be9f153bb54e5d4cb744f6ae8.gif :graduate: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/graduate.gif.d982460be9f153bb54e5d4cb744f6ae8.gif

What does smoking weed have anything to do with doing well in school. Why didn't you just go though the transfer program?

Opportunities to meet women are far fewer after school. Don't get a retail job just to meet women....

actually, very little.

Maybe i included that in a late afterword to my story because several of my colleagues at the time dropped out as well, but did not do so for more forward planning reasons.

I did smoke a lot of reefer in high school (in 91-95) and in a way, it was more of a drug to help deal with the monotony and standardization of high school. During this period,, my biggest interest was playing music!! Jazz and Funk!! The moments I was in school were almost painful. Not physically, and not like the kids that got harassed because of their click might have experienced,, but just because,,, it was sooo boring and was so standardized..

In my particular class,, there were many other students that dropped out.. many simply because they took more of an interest in the reefer. Whatever,,, that was their choice.

Now to the bandwagon of weed being good or bad… My answer is WHATEVER….. I have spent my whole life around musicians of all discliplines, and acedemics of the same.

The use of weed comes down to how you use it and how it uses it you and the (hopefully) pleasant interaction that exists in between.

At this moment,, I am in the Netherlands which has the most liberal marijuana policy in the world!!! We all know this. Funny thing is,, although completely acceptable and available at any Koffee Shop,, people on average (from my experience) smoke much less here than in the states..

Maybe a symptom of the forbidden fruit??

And my stance… I stopped smoking weed about 12 years ago.. Occasionally, once in a “blue moon” ill take a puff but that’s it!!!

dam, i think my 10 year reunion is right around the corner...craps
missed mine last year!!! Even though i "did it my way" the reunion committee extended the invite to me citing the reason "well.. adam, you were with us the whole time and it was only 6 weeks before you chose to leave""

I actually did and did NOT want to go!! sometimes the interactions with people you have not seen for 10 years can be a bit akward. Other times,, it is like no time passed at all!

i had to go back to sweden the DAY OF and i was bummed..

Despite all of my reservations,, the comments i read on the reunion wall seemed to indicate that despite a few "moments" everyone had a good time!!

Guess i have to wait till my 20!!!

And then it gets complicated with multiple degrees and universities!?!?!

which are the most important????

........................hmmmm very individualistic i assume!!
