Oh man those are hilarious....I think the worst crime I've committed was leaving all the ghetto wiring exposed lol...and that was way back in the day;)

It doesn't have to be bad to be ghetto. My ghetto cruiser just had wire runnign everywhere. It was the right gauge. It just needed to be under the carpet instead of on top of it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I'm w/ranger..... I've never done a "ghetto" install either. But I do wonder.......how many of the people that hang out on this forum are also featured in that website...lol

I remember when I was 16 I had a Encore with an old hand me down Clarion HU w/ knobs, an Alpine 18w X 2 amp hooked up to 2 house speakers with 10"s. it was cool 'cause we would set them up outside the car at the lake.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The worse thing I ever did was this:

When I first got the Brahma, I wired it up, and had it in the back of my truck. I ran the wires from the box, under the truck, but I could not find a hole in the cab to run the wires to the amp. After a while, I found a hole in the cab, and got up under the truck to find it. I could not see it from under the truck, so what I decided to do was to stick a piece of wire from the cab down the hole, and then find the wire from the outside. I did so, and then tied the wire from the box to the wire in the cab (one I ran down the hole). The thing I did not realize was that I wired the negative from the cab to the positive from the box, and vice versa. Once tied together, I pulled the box wire into the cab. Then I got a phone call, and went inside. When I came back out, I had forgotten that I had wired the opposites, and I hooked up the wires to the amp. Long story short, I blew the amp...and was rather pissed at myself.

D@mn yall young uns' //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif When I first got into car audio. We didn't have all of these wonderful forums and crap. The only way you could learn anything was by be-freinding someone at a shop. Or happen to know somebody that was into it. There really weren't any books or magazines about car audio. You had to learn everything the hard way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
