Got noise pinpointed, but what to do?

Well, got the noise narrowed down to the subwoofer amp & processor RCA's.

Muted all amps along the way and still had noise. Then I muted the subwoofer's rca's and had no noise. Muted the processor's sub rca's and noise gone.

I'm not sure what this means exactly? When I leave the rca's completely out of the subwoofer & processor subwoofer input there's no noise.

Maybe I'm just getting interferance somewhere?

There's .1 ohms resistance between the subwoofer amp's ground & grounding spot.

depending on the shielding of your RCA cables, they may be picking up magnetic interference especially if they're run close to the main power/ground wires. You don't need super expensive cables, but somthing with decent shielding should solve your problem.

Sorry - I know you think you're doing us a favor with that link, but power wire inducted noise in a car just doesn't happen.

The theory's fine and good - and there are sources for induced noise in a car, but the power wire isn't one of them.

If it is - we're all screwed b/c there's dc current flowing all over the car's chassis - which unless you're suspending your rca's in mid air - you can't avoid it.

On top of that --

In this particular case I think we can assume if Bikinipunk has amp inputs muted he has the amps running at a very low volume - therefore the power wire is almost completely eliminated as a mag field source.

I'll say more on the topic if you'd like, if not...more reading, less typing.
