What do you suggest? I'm a big fan of RF. I know some people love them and some people hate them but I'm an old school guy so I guess RF has stuck with me since then. I know a lot of people use AQ2200s on these. As far as electrical, I'm going to start with a Big 3 then look into getting a better battery and maybe a higher output alternator later. I found out my stock alternator is 160 amps. I was hoping to get away with just a Big 3 but if I can't, no big deal. I don't drive a lot (my office is a mile from my house) and the system will rarely be played with the truck not running, if ever. It's a daily driver.

Well old school RF and new school RF are entirely different things haha. I think with a 160a alternator, your electrical will be entirely fine, maybe you'll need an extra battery in the back. Of course get that Big 3 done asap. But you will want to look into a rather efficient amplifier. If you're looking for something around the 2k range, then there's the AQ2200, SAZ 1500 or 2500, DC 2k, Mmats 2000.1, DD m2 or m3. All of those would be pretty efficient, and give you plenty of power.

Those pics are ok... None on the motor but I don't care what it "looks" like, I'm concerned about performance. I want to know the new specs and nobody seems to have em. I feel like I'm hunting for the cure to my aids.

Those pics are ok... None on the motor but I don't care what it "looks" like, I'm concerned about performance. I want to know the new specs and nobody seems to have em. I feel like I'm hunting for the cure to my aids.

If you get info on specs, enclosure recommendations, etc. on the new model, please PM me. Since it doesn't come with any info at all, the only thing I have to use for the builder is the specs off the website. But since they were redesigned, those might not be applicable anymore.

Awesome.. one of my favorite vehicles.. if I could afford one right now I'd swoop it fo sho.. thinking about getting an 07-08 police tahoe though and just swapping the interior from a denali/escalade

I've heard the police vehicles are a little beat up but they have upgraded electrical to run their laptop, radios, etc. I know of a good forum if you get one. It's for Tahoes/Yukons.

I got a really good deal on the truck. It had 58k miles, fully loaded, for $24k. I just bought it in February and I've added an AEM intake, Black Bear Performance tune (those two mods made a huge difference. Truck probably has over 400 hp now), and did some other minor mods like weathertech mats, emblems, tint, etc. Next up is the system. But every other one I looked at was $28k minimum, upwards of $35-38k with the same mileage. I'm going to put a Nav TV in it when I have my system installed rather than getting an aftermarket radio. Now if I can only reach AA to get the specs on this new model so I can have the box built!

Thx bro. I think I'd like to keep it around 1,500 watts. The sub is 1,250 RMS but I've seen it handle the AQ 2200. I guess if I can find a decent deal soon on one of those amps you recommended, I'll swap it and try to sell mine. Appreciate the input though.

I actually have a connect who buys federal vehicles at auctions (federal agencies in some states are required to sell ALL vehicles and replenish stock every 4 years, regardless of condition) so some are actually in very good condition. These aren't patrol cars that idle all day, they are used on raids/investigative work or just simple transportation.

I can get a 08 hoe with 30-40k on it for less than 14k, so I figure I find a crashed escalade and swap the fresh leather cooled/heated seats out of it for an extra grand or so throw in some new OEM carpet, and yea they come stock with a HO alternator, big 3 already done in like 2 gauge and dual batteries under the hood

Wouldnt have the bigger engine but I can live with that.

Thanks man. That 08 Hoe looks like a great deal. I'm assuming the one you're looking at will have the 5.3L. The smaller engine will at least save on gas b/c my gas bill tripled once I got mine lol.

Auctions.. you usually have to have your dealer license though to go to these ones. They are nice trucks but you gotta make sure you get them from agencies and not police surplus.. either way they are cheap and usually low miles. The backs are beat up from cargo usually and they come without carpet so thats not a problem for me.

Comes without carpet = run all your cables, then throw fresh new carpet on top.. already have dual batt spots and upgraded electrical. Thinking about getting one real soon.. but gas..
