Got my Havoc today

we ordered 2 mayhem 18's on wednesday before finals and they were both at the shop the next day

I swore it was an Xcon also but it was located in a box build for a Havoc. I thought it was the new redesign with the UFO.

It looks a lot like that. Same color basket. I don't think the motor is quite that big but I could be wrong. I'll have to check. It's stashed away in my closet until I have a box built for it.

No problem man. Always here to help. If you do upgrade amps, I would look at something else. The bdcp is a current hog and better can be had. What configuration is the havoc.

What do you suggest? I'm a big fan of RF. I know some people love them and some people hate them but I'm an old school guy so I guess RF has stuck with me since then. I know a lot of people use AQ2200s on these. As far as electrical, I'm going to start with a Big 3 then look into getting a better battery and maybe a higher output alternator later. I found out my stock alternator is 160 amps. I was hoping to get away with just a Big 3 but if I can't, no big deal. I don't drive a lot (my office is a mile from my house) and the system will rarely be played with the truck not running, if ever. It's a daily driver.

I've heard from a lot of people these amps are "power hungry" and "inefficient." As long as I have strong electrical, the amp should be fine, correct?

Hopefully that new Havoc wont have problems. I recently had one for my customer that had tinsel lead issues they were too short and kept snapping. It came from AA that way. They are sending me a NEW re-cone for free and I was told by Nick's replacement Shawn Fleming that the tinsel leads are being sandwiched between the spiders like they always were. Apparently AA started doing the tinsel leads exposed with NO loops or anything in them. It looks like the sub in that pic has exposed tinsel leads.

you can add a bass knob to just about any amp now days with an after market addition,that can be found on ebay

I forgot to mention this but I found it odd that the Havoc didn't come with any kind of manual that shows recommended enclosure size, RMS, etc. It also didn't come with any screws or stickers. Every sub I've purchased before this always has these items. I know you can get the tech specs on their website but there isn't much on there and they don't have a tech support line that I am aware of. It was the sub, a cardboard box for shipping and nothing else.

Looks like the Havoc is 100% OUT until I see more pics and get an answer from AA on why they redesigned everything...
