Got my Electric Bill in....

my parents was almost 450. My younger sister that lives with them leaves every light on in every room she goes into and out of and leaves the t.v. and other things on.

makes me sick.

it doesn't cost more unless you let the temp get insane. best bet is to set it at 70 and use a model that has energy saver(window units) that shuts down the entire unit when the compressor is not working.

I'd die for a $50 eletric bill.
My parents did a test one year being the have heard it don't matter as well. Well 3 months they left the air on and their bill was ranging from 180-200 a month. Then the other 3 months they would turn it on and off and hell even one month they barely used it and it was 230-250. I am going on what I have personally seen on her bill.

Granted everything else is taken into consideration, but they did say they tried not to use the extra electricity if they didn't have too. So.........

Man I miss my apartment 3 bedroom 1bath, & $30 electric bills ftw. The highest ever was $60. My house now (3 bedroom 2 bath) we usually have around a $100 electric bill. Our temp stays set on 70* year round and my air runs near non-stop in the summer here in SC. Its nice having a newer energy efficient house. The highest I think we've ever had was $130.

Our's is over $350 a month. Of course that's 2 water pumps, one for water, one for the sprinkler, 4 computers in the house, a couple TV's, and about 500 watts of heating supplies for my snakes.

How was it 30 dollars? I would have to see it to believe that one. I have a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom 1000sqft apartment and mine is no where near that. Did you have anything in therE?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

mine was less than $40 last month so its jumped 25% in a month...its only an 8 room house...the increase seems pretty crazy...the damm fuel adj scam was more than my electricity used....24.17....electric I used wasn't but 23.16 maybe when I get rid of my 32" power hungry TV and goto a LCD I'll see a decrease I do keep the TV on almost all the time when I'm home...

That was many years ago when I was single and I pretty much wasn't ever home. The only thing that ran regularly was my fridge & air.

The problem is the energy it takes to bring it back down to your target temp. If you could turn it off and on and maintain the same temp, all would be good.
