Let me guess, if she works, then you shut off the air and turn it back on when you get home. You do realize it cost more money to shut off and turn back on your air, right? Hell even if you go below a certain temp. it cost more. I keep mine at 71 and leave it there most of the summer. My electric bill will range from 130-160 a month in the summber and 80-115 in the winter.

it doesn't cost more unless you let the temp get insane. best bet is to set it at 70 and use a model that has energy saver(window units) that shuts down the entire unit when the compressor is not working.

I'd die for a $50 eletric bill.

i'm with theory....i keep my air at 70 and i'll range usually around 130-160 in summers.....but i do try to turn it off on a cool night.

Your right. My air conditioner is pretty old and inefficient so I think thats why it runs my bill up. But you make a dam good point about recooling the house back down.
