Got my 15's metered

OK, I know its not 11db off.
But there is evidence to support the idea that it is probably close to 8-9 dBs off.

the AC meter at my local shop read a 153 when I was doing low 140's.....so it all depends on what mic
i've seen AC's 2db up from the TL/AC190 and then again I did a 151.3 with an H2 12 and 2500d in a small ported box in my Lumina on the AC once haha, in reality that did about a 142 so there is a lot of wiggle room. Good score though, any time you can see a 150 its nice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I can do a 58 on the AC, but my TL only reads a 47.

And btdickey and CRXBMPN have had some serious systems, so they know how loud really loud is.

2 15s sealed on 1200 hifonics watts doing 150s?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Nice score, your most likely about 143 legal, 148 at the kick. My friends ext. S10 was about 7.5db diff between AC and TL:)

If you read, his CVR's are in a 7 cube box tuned to 30 hz with 108 square inches of port area..

I was speaking about the cabin not the box. Sealed meaning sealed up on the dash. I can see where the confusion can come in though. I apologize, I should have typed another couple of words.

Thats what I'm thinking.

A 150 on the ac is still **** loud. The reason why Audiocontrol mics differ has to do with the mic itself. The diaphraghm becomes stressed over time allowing higher scores and then needs to be recalibrated . The new TL is the benchmark because of its proven consistency.

yea that was with my last system too..... I was just saying more less that it can be 3-5 dbs off or 8-11....depending on which AC meter

I've measured 140.1 on the AC and then 139.7 on the TL then 143.1 on the same AC with the same exact system. The AC mics aren't consistently inaccurate.
You metered 140.1 and 143.1 on the same AC meter with the same system. That is the definition of consistently inaccurate.
