yea im breaking it in, i noticed its got a lil bit of a rattle to the cone, do yall think thats any big deal??

If you hear something funny. Remove the sub from

the enclosure and disconnect it. Then move it around

and listen for any noises.

That way you can tell if the noise is coming directly

from the sub.

I got my e15k about a week ago and put it in a 2.0

cubic ft. sealed and it sounds great. Good linear response

even down deep.

Here's my e15k installed

Thanks!!!

I like clean simple installs. Although it might be

fun to do something really complex and flashy.

Plexiglass, fiberglass and all that jazz.

i dunno its when i turn it up enough to get the cone moving real good, then it makes just a lil rattle noise, it might supposed to be doing it i dunno, i pushed down around the edges to hold it to the box, and it still did it, its coming from the center of it, the sub sounds good at pretty low volumes then as i start to turn it up a little itr makes the noise

Sounds like tinsel slap to me..Take the sub out, and play it at a low level, very carefully. Listen for the sound and see if the tinsel leads are slapping the spider (the cone should have little pads to prevent tinsel slap on it, if it doesn't, then that is your problem.) Check that, ive got a gut feeling that is what it is..Those are the tell-tale signs of tinsel slap. (and i had the same problem with my K //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif )

steve what do you think of me buying some shag carpet for my new box and putting it on there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

lol, then also glue some to the cone of the woofer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

shag carpet is just flat out funny. i can just see those little yarn pieces of carpet flapping around :p

i remeber seeing them pads, when i was looking it over when i got it, well i go try that and see if i can see anything like that, will they replace them if thats what it is???

I haven't had any problems out of subs before "knocking on wood"

so I'm not to good at troubleshooting problems with them.

Try emailing or calling Elemental Designs and see what they

have to say about the problem. If it's a defect you should

be able to get a new e15k to replace yours.

Just a thought.
