Got a project I have always wanted done... just never been able to lay it all out

Here is my dilemma and my goal:

I'll give as much detail as possible so that you can see what I am working with here.

The car in question is a 1996 Ford Mustang

It is Non Mach so won't have to worry about remove amps etc etc.

I currently have a Alpine CDA-9811 in there that I love to no end....

Alright that is my current setup... and this is what I want to be able to do.

I currently have 4600+ music files on my computer (23+GB), all ripped at 192kbps with correct ID Tags and all that jazz.

Basically I am OCD about my music collection.

This is how I have it laid out and this is how I want to be able to access it in my project setup:

The Files:

The Next Page under G:\Music\

The Next Page Under Rock-Pop for example:

Then list pick Green Day:

The List choose Dookie:

That is how I want it to be setup in my project...

I guess what I am asking is is there first, a program that will allow me to organize the music I have in the exact same format?

If not then we must go custom... what would you suggest? I want something that turns on with the car just like the current cd player does....

I don't know the best way to do this is what I am basically trying to get a feel for. What do you suggest? Point me somewhere that may benefit me.

Thanks

I have a similar situation where I have over 2900 albums that I want access to, so I am just going to use the Alpine k420i iPod interface with my 9855 head unit.

get an omni fi unit, there great and relativly cheap. you can swap out the harddrive for a bigger one (they use notebook hard drives) very easaly.... thats what i did anyway

You can build micro-ITX based computers and get the power supplies that are already set up for automotive use. They'll monitor the ignition switch, boot it up when you cut the car on, shut it down shortly after you power it off, protect against over and under-volt, and keep the computer from discharging your battery. I've already bought a micro-ITX box with a 1.0ghz VIA Epia chip in it, just for this very thing. Money got tight after buying the house and I never could decide where to mount the display, so the project has stalled. I'll let you have it for what I gave for it, if you want it. $150. (it's got an AC-DC power supply in it now, so you'd have to buy the auto one seperate).
It has intergrated audio right now... what do I need to run my audio through a 4 channel amp?
