got a loud buzzing noise with Basslink when I use the Cell Phone

Alright People, here's the deal - I installed an Infinity Basslink X in my Tacoma a few days ago. Install went well and didn't hear or see any problems (but I also didn't use my cell phone that night). A day later I notice this crazy buzzing noise that plays through the sub when I make a call on the cell! I thought (today) that maybe its an improper ground, so I searched out another location - sub works great but the noise is stll their when I make a phone call! [and thats the odd part as well - it ONLY exists while making a call, other than that no humming/distortion/buzzing at all].

Has anyone else had anything like this before? Would a "noise-blocker" help out? Any advise would be awesome. Thanks people.

It's your phone, not the basslink.

Your RCAs are acting like an antenna and picking up the waves heading to and from the phone.

Its the type of service u use. I think only certain cell phone companys use a signal that'll do that.

Nextel is HORRIBLE on stereo systems. No matter what brand of cables or amps, it will do it.

You can try buying some ferrite beads and wrapping your RCAs in that. It should help some.

Thanks guys for the suggestions. The crazy thing is that I had the same sub and same set up in my old car (an 02 Civic Si) and didn't have the problem at all! [not even a hint] I'll see if I can buy these ferrite beads today. I sure do hope it solves the problem - its driving me f*ckin' crazy!

I have never had a problem with Sprint, they supposedly use the highest frequencies for a clearer call

cingular- only if i hold my phone close to equipment...(motorola phone)

Nextel is horrendous for this, luckily for me it doesn't happen in my car only in my house.

I can always tell when my phone is gonna ring or i'm gonna get a text message, my speakers start going crazy a few seconds before hand.

Mine does it when I get to work. It makes the same sound a computer does when your phone rings.

It does it to everyone including people with factory systems.

Mine does that too (Cingular - Samsung Phone), but it is the worst with my computer. It rarely does anything with my car stereo, but it also messes with my computer.
