when i think of "wild turkey" i think of some redneck muh fcker drunk as hell w/ a shotgun. never tried it, but sound like it's a redneck whiskey, like evan. no offense to you evan drinkers (cheap ***** //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif)

You'll think that until you try Rare Breed. Regular Wild Turkey is meh, Rare Breed is ****ed smooth and is pretty subtle compared to most Bourbons.

And all you suggesting Walker, Glenlivet, Jameson, those are scotch whiskeys. Unless the OP meant ALL whiskeys, I wouldn't have suggested them, as scotch is a very acquired taste, and it's a lot more expensive than most all bourbon whiskeys. If you are used to drinking bourbon whiskey, going to scotch is the last thing you want, their tastes are totally different.

That being said, Rare Breed or JD Single Barrel is where it's at for Bourbons, IMO. Both are very smooth, and are fairly priced compared to JW Black Label or Jameson, but those are some ****ed good scotches //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You're right, reason I recommended that is because I hate bourbon //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

normal wild turkey is soooooooo so so so nasty. My parents have a glass of it every night on the rocks. I tried it and wanted to throw the glass.
The only whiskey I've ever liked is Crown Royal and that's the only stuff I've ever found that tastes good.
try makers.

my buddy handed me a bottle at a party once. i sat down my crown, took a swig and was very impressed. slightly sweeter than crown. very good stuff

speaking of pinnacle, I tried some pinnacle vodka this last weekend and for vodka it was so **** smooth. It was very very good, they will be seeing more business from me.

Grain or potato distilled? What kind of aftertaste does it have? (i.e. medicinal like Goose, slightly sweet like Stoli, kind of bitter like Level?)

And JimJ, I agree, but those two bourbons I do like, thanks to my brothers and father. If I had my way, I wouldn't touch bourbons, but when I'm out at my dad's, that's all they have, so I usually end up drinking Rare Breed on the rocks, and it's pretty ****ed good for a bourbon. I did most of my bourbon drinking before I was even legal to drink, and most of the time, it didn't go very well, so that might explain my disdain for bourbons.

I would love to try Woodford though.

how much does it cost?
i tad more than crown. i never bought it. i like my crown, and he likes his makers.

it's more than crown? ho snapz, crown is enough already //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
price list i posted has:

1 Liter Maker's Mark = 31.99

1 Liter Crown Royal = 32.99

it's about the same. i thought it was a bit more.

Gonna have to go get a bottle of makers now. Can't believe I've never tried the stuff.
It is indeed good stuff, get some makers and rock out to Final Countdown lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif but naw seriously, ya gotta try it.

So has anyone tried this jameson stuff?
Its good too, little different as explained before. It's been a while since I've had it though.
