Hello, I'm yet another newbie that needs help from you guys.

Basically I have a soundstream rubicon 550-5 that I love, and

I need to add a good-great subwoofer. I'm not too concerned

about the cash, but I need to keep the enclosure small.

(The cooler of beer won't fit in the trunk if the enclosure is large) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I have a 90' BMW 325i with a Apline CDA-7864 head unit,

front spearkers are JL XR525CXi, the rear deck has a pair of

JL XR650CSi. I normally listen to Hard Rock & Metal bands.

Currently without a sub I have decent Highs and mid's but no

lows/bass when the volume is turned up. The JLs start distorting. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I've been considering the TS10L7 (L7 Truck enclosure), but from

what I've read the 150W or 250W won't be enough to push the L7s.

Thus the sound will be crappy at best.

I have about $1G in the system now. (yeah I know I didn't shop around....)

I'd like to ensure the sub I get only improves the system. If I could

hear your opinions on the subject given this long post, I'd appreciate it!!

Thanks!

Getting a good voltage reading does not mean good power transfer. You could read 13.8v out of a 24 AWG wire. Recheck your amplifier's ground and...

That would be a function of the harness, not the HU, I think. Have you looked into a Maestro or iData interface? i would check with crutchfield...

thanks DB, that definitely helps swallowing a $300 price tag 😂 these would essentially be running midbass for me too
