Good song to test entire system..

these arent really speaker testing songs or anything, but they really do put your highs, mids and lows all to the test and see how "clean" your system really is. But to really see what i mean you'd have to listen to the entire songs.. They use alot of drum triggers and chaos pad work, so you get all these digtal sounds and and explosions of bass.. Just a few songs to try out, have fun with your system and all.

I've found the best songs to test my system are complicated, not-often-reproduced-well songs. Well recorded by difficult recordings. I like Mana's "unplugged" cd for this. Beautiful cd rarely played well by a system. If my system impresses me with this album, I'm happy. It's easy for most systems to make "hotel california" sound good.

Pop a CD with an organ in it. I promise you, you will cry when it absolutely destroys your system (makes it sound like shit).

I also like Beck, at least his newer stuff, for sound quality.

I do like the electronic stuff because it sounds cool, but it's hard to tell if it's 'right' or not. I perfer acoustic or live performances...especially with female voices. I was just listening to Alice In Chains Unplugged album today....the kickdrum pop lead in on "No Excuses" is just awesome. Plus if you watch the music video you can imagine how everthing is set up and therefore have an idea of what that stage should sound like.

I'm going to take a look at those songs and groups you mentioned though skameron.
