Does anyone know what subs are good replacements for three JL 10W6AE subs? I would like to keep the same box and amp if possible, and the mounting depth can't be any deeper than the JLs. Are the new shallow subs any good? And my amp is doing 1200 at 1 ohm with the JLs right now.

well you have almost 7 inches of mounting depth. There are plenty f subs that will get lower and louder that are under 7". The preo bis finding 3 subs to get you to a true 1 ohm load. You will need dvc 6 ohm speakers to do that. Or you can go to 2 subs and you can get pretty much any sub out there.

If you are sticking with dual 6 ohm speakers so you can get to 1 ohm to max the power of your amp you arent gonna get a better sub than what you have. You will be stuck with audiobahn or something like that. Now if you do another box you can get 2 subs hat will way outperform what you already have. Do you understand what I am saying? Or do you need more?

Personally, I'd stick with the subs you already have. With three 10"s, you've got some nice cone area, so that's a plus. But, If you're looking to change things up just for the sake of change, look into a single 18". Maybe a Fi Q or DC Lvl 4...

Just my .02.
