It is if it's an Audio CD. Data CDs are limited to 700 MB, which can be a good 10 hours of music in LAME MP3 or Vorbis OGG format.

I bit the bullet and purchased Cakewalk Pyro a while ago...works well.

I use K3B, it works for just about everything and it's free, but you'd have to compile it yourself for Windows. =p
