Since I haven't done many installs on my own I went to a shop to get a quote to get my system up and running. My car is a 2006 mercedes c230, and right when you say mercedes to installers they say hell ya lets rip him off. Im not totally sure if this is a rip off thats why im here to ask you guys really quick.

Things I have

Subs- 2 15 inch TC-2000's

Amp- Cadence ZRS-10

Gear they are selling me

Yellow Top

Isolater (This makes the yellow top run your system, and stock batt run your car)

Amp Kit

What they are doing

Running all wires

Building me and enclosure (Ported)

Custom painted panel, that goes in front of the box and makes the sub look flush into a wall.

Final quote was roughly 1200 dollars. Let me know what you guys think, Thanks.

EDIT: This is a high end shop, they were recently hit by a hurricane and got shut down for quite a while. Probably best shop around me.

for a basis of comparison, I had a guy build me box, and install: head unit, components, 2 amps, subs, epicenter, made a custom amp rack to make the amps flush, and sound deadened the whole car for $400. He also came and did it mobile ftw.

Yea man well the good thing is, I need all of this done like really soon and they have everything in stock. I would have to order everything and wait for the horrible shipping companys to mess up my orders.

And also they are doing some custom paintwork/selling me a batt isolater.

Thanks for the reply.

thats rediculous...period

lets put it into prospective.

150$ for the yellow top, 100 for the amp kit, 175$ for a carpeted dual 15 box(what i charge on average depending on size).

so why does it cost 825 to run wires, get an isolator, and make the box look pretty?

I think $300-$400 for the enclosure is fair, if it is well done.

Maybe $150-$200 for the wiring, max.

So the job should run between $450 and $600 at a nice shop.

Yes, you are being taken.

the isolator separates your 2nd battery from the front system so you can run the system with the car off and not drain your main battery.
Oh nice thanks for the correction, well I think im going to go up to the shop tomorrow and tell them the exact things you guys just told me. Hopefully I save around 850 and then I can get some comps, amp for comps, and a HU.
