Good Deal?

Ok, So I went to my local sound store to ask for prices. I told them about that car, and that I am on a tight budget.

So, they made me an offer, and I wanted to know if this was good

2 12" Memphis PR

An amp to power them both

A sub enclosure

All the wiring and getting it installed

All that, for a little under 500. Good or not?

no. shops screw you over. find some subs here that are better and cheaper.

you could get a better deal on here, i spent just over 700 on my new setup and its gonna be a lot louder than that

you really only told us a very little

we need to know what type of amp, what kinda of box (sealed, ported what material used)

Do you already have a cd player installed, what type of wiring kit are they using

like said above not enough info. my guess is it will be a prefab box small wires cheap amp. i highly suggest you invest your time into doing your own install. NOONE will care more about your system more then you will so why let someone else install it for you. it is super easy to do and the internet is packed with how to's if you get stuck.

in general the price seems fair as far as shop prices go but it is not a good deal.

can buy the subs online for just over 100.00 for the pair.

a GOOD amp to run them with head room for less then 200.00

sheet of MDF 20 bucks

glue & screws 15.00

wires 30.00

so do it yourself and save a couple bills you will be very glad you did with the added bonus of DIY pride

I can't do shit with wiring and stuff. Lol, I will go back to the shop to find more information. Would 2 DD's 1008a's sounds better?

YOu can run a power wire from your battery to your amp, if you can't we cant really help you.

500 is fair but a rip off at the same time...

Get a Fi Q 12" for $250

Cadence TDX 1000rms is like $200

Have them build your box and you run your power wire.
