Is this a good buy? Im also not sure about what amp to get or if there is something better?

I know most might disagree but Kenwood decks are poorly made in my opinion. From most that I have tested with they are poorly made. Plus lack good SQ.. I think! Stay away from bahns crap, and as for the pine and the reference, they are decent. You can use that money alot better though at a cheaper site and get alot more for your money. If I were you I would get a Type r 12", which go for 119 at sonicelectronix.com which is a very good site to order from. Amps well you would want something that pushes between 500-700w rms at 4ohm or 1ohm, which can be easily found and you will spend less then that alpine amp.

thanks for the advise, yeah I was originaly going to get 2 12" type Rs but i dont know if I want that much power at this point, Im just looking for something to get me started. Can you recomend some amp brands?

Im hopping to be around $600 or $700. Im try to keep it as low as possible but also try but not get poor stuff at the same time.
