i blew my bro's sony with a kicker l5, so we are looking for something to replace it. needs to be at least 500 rms @4ohms or

i have a profile ap2000 and i love it i think it will work great with his sub so if you have something like that that would be nice.

the sub is a 05 model type R. i think it is the 500wrms model.

bigj06040 has a Hifonics BX1500d amp for $170.

It sounds perfect for what you want.

well its probably just the fact that it was a cheap sony. i hooked the sub up for like five minutes and then the amp just shut off. i havent opened the amp up but all the fuses are good... i guess i could pull the cover but i think he wants something different anyways. what do you think blew it?

Even if its a cheap sony. If you hooked it up for only five mins and the amp blew, then you need to find out why it blew b4 you go out purchasing another amp. B/c the same thing can happen to your new amp.

i will go ahead and say that the zr360 for sale in the classifieds is EXACTLY what you need. The guy wants 140 shipped for it and it is a very powerful amp. I have personally seen it pound 4 fosgate 10s like it was nothing. Just check it out. Be nice to have matching brands too.

What is the voice coil configuration on your system?

Perhaps you were running it below the rated limit like 1 ohm, or if its a really crappy amp, 2 ohms. :\

Thats all I can think of for blowing an amp after 5 minutes.
