Hey guys I have a dual 10" sealed box thats 2.2 cubes total with my current woofer displacement. Those would be Pioneer Premier TS-W1007D2s. Running a total of 500 watts now and plan on getting a Hifonics BXi 1206D. With the 900 at 2 ohms and little more on 1 ohm what would be some good 10s to get? I'm looking at type r's, powerbass s-10d's, and a few others but im not sure. Trying to stay under $250 and the type r's get right up there. Would the powerbass' be a step up form the premiers or would i be getting about the same? Any other ideas for 2X 10's under $250 would be great. SQ above SPL.

Thanks

I aint no installer, but I bought a Hifonics 1205D and a couple of name brand 12's from a local online reseller..I aint knockin the amp..I like them. But I am trying to sell my stuff right now and go with AQ..go ahead, shop around some. When it comes down to getting the best bass for your $, I dont think you will find better.

looks good, just a little out of my price range... Maybe in a little while. Question, if i go from a sensitivity rating on my premiers of 87 dB to a rating of 91 dB, does that mean that sub will be louder than the premier with the same amount of watts? Looking at the Powerbass M-10 and it seems nice for the price, but if i dont up my current kenwood 500 watts will it sound better/louder with the new powerbass subs?

The guy that installed my setup is a Memphis/powerbass dealer..I listened to a pair of PB 10's in a small box..(dont know how close to 2.2 cubes it was) but they sounded great..But with 2 speakers tested under the exact same circumstances (watts/distance/enclosure, etc.), a sens of 91db would be 4 db louder than the 87 db sens. As I understand, a gain of 6db would sound twice as loud to your ear.

Perhaps someone more experienced will reply to this thread.

Good luck!
