Gonna Try A False Floor

Hey I am gonna try a False floor and build a compartment for my trunk batterie. Few questions.

Can I use OSB for the false floor. I figured since it will not produce sound it won't matter. Carpet will cover it anyway.

Can I build a Compartment with a hinged door on top and just drill round holes for the wires to go out? Btterie won't get hot will it?

I was asking about OSB because I have like 5 sheets and I need to use them!

Oriented Strand Board. It won't hold much weight and it swells really bad if it is exposed to moisture.
