I've also heard a lot of times crooked shops will actually 'steal-back' equipment they sell/install for people, but i never knew how true that was.

I've always thought that... Whenever I go to my local car audio stores, theres always a little table with "Clearance" items that looked like they got yanked outta of a car or something. Plus who knows better about the car than the people that installed the alarm, audio, and video setup. For all we know they could be making copies of our keys etc.... while were out grabbing a bite... thats why I install my own stuff.
