hey

does anyone know the power of a VW golf mk4 2001 1.6 altenator, if i was to upgrade to a stinger battery would this help to keep my voltage stable? as i am running around 1200rms alltogether for my system and i was thinking of buying a new Stinger SPV44 which is a 660A battery and doing the The big 3 with 1/0 guage wire

is that for the 1.6 model cos its a 16v aswell if that will make any difference, do you think there is any point in buying a new battery for the time being as im going to sell the car soon and get another.

im going to upgrade my amp which is more powerful then the one i got now so i dont want any voltage drops, so i guessed by buying a new battery i can put it in the new car when i get it

a battery should not do much, if anything.

batteries hold current. alternators make current. the alt will make as much current as is being drawn from the battery to maintain a constant charge. so whatever you pull, the alternator will want to replace.

if your amps pull 50A of current from the battery, the alternator will try and charge 50A. if your car also drains 30A from the engine and internal electronics. then thats 70A. if your headlights are on, that could be another 10A. thats 80A.

those numbers are out of my ***. but you get the point. the alt will replace any current used, even if the battery is full of juice. thats the way of life.

new alt > any other electrical upgrade for a daily driver.
