Gold Terminals on lead post?

Someone said it might cause corrosion or something. Should I have a problem?

nope, just clean it and attach them as tight as you can

no it shouldent at all, i allways use LYNX batt terminal protectent sprey, you can buy at auto zone, good stuff. allso they make a batt terminal cleaner.. works great

agreed after you have it cleaned it helps a lot to protect it. lynx is great, though it is red in color, but you can wipe the extra up if you really feel the need to

Gold doesn't corrode. It is the least reactive metal. That's why it's used as plating on eletrical contacts.

still the lead post's some time carrode around it.. so cleaning and spraying the lynx protective spray will help allot!

The only time I've seen corrosion on battery terminals is when they were plated brass. The terminal (not the posts because lead is not very reactive either) corroded around a scratch in the plating. The zinc in the brass was what was corroding and the copper in the alloy was corroding slightly, too was evidenced by the blue-green color to some of the corrosion. Lead oxide is black. Zinc oxide is white. If the corrosion is white, then it's the terminals corroding.
