Glue for Foam on Fiberglass...?

Howdy,

I need to glue some closed cell foam to fiberglass. This is not for a car, but is for a fiberglass fiddle case I just finished.

I know that contact cement would hold well, but because it can't be repositioned, it just will not work for me given the curves of the case.

What type of glue would be tacky enough to hold the foam in place initially, but would allow some repositioning before setting up?

Sincere thanks for any help on this,

A.C.

this is not a violin forum. perhaps you would have luck somewhere else, other than a car audio forum.
you dont have to be into caraudio too long before your learning which glues to use for putting say, headliner or carpet, on fiberglassed panels. i use a 3m spray product you can get at lowes. ive successfully used it on foams too, but it wont give you more than 10-20sec if i remember correctly

Howdy,

Your comment brought a smile...

I've read fiddle boards for as long as they have been around, but I don't recall ever seeing any mention of gluing foam to fiberglass.

But here, I got some useful information in a flash.

All the best,

A.C.
