I see on some peoples videos on YouTube before their system hits they give their car some gas(push the accelerator a little bit). Why do they do this? Is this only for high end systems that will shut the car off if they dont have electricity flowing throughout the car?

Its to boost the voltage up and get the alt spinning. When you hit the gas, RPM's go up, Alt starts charging at a higher voltage, better for numbers. With my truck idling compared to off i lost 1.7 DB.

this is so their alt is running a charge and their car doesn't shut off, so yes what you said was right.

In most real competitions, DB Drag, USACi etc., you can't go over 2000 rpm.
