Alot of people mistakenly call the Arigiope spider the banana spider because it has yellow markings on its back. Most people where I'm from call it a writing spider. (The golden orb spider is known as the banana spider also).

The true banana spider is one of the most lethal to humans and is called The Brazilian Wandering Spider. It gets its name from being shipped in crates of bananas.

I can't believe no one has posted this video.



I'll also add that there are 2 different types of daddy longlegs, the Opiliones or the harvestmen which is what most people see and think it's the most poisonous when it actually has no venom at all and is not even a spider.

The other is the Pholcidae or the cellar spider which has venom but doesn't have the capabilities to bite humans which it wouldn't hurt humans even if it did.

Why did I just read this whole thread? I HATE FAWKING SPIDERS!

I just killed what look like a wolf spider the other day, was fawking huge! I scremed like a litte silly sally the whole time, while my 250 pound fat arse stepped on him with my good work shoes of all things! I heard it go crackle and pop!

Go to check the damage and the mofo was still moving. Scared the shit out of me! I then broke out the telephone book! That did it.............yet me 250 pound fat *** jumping up and down like I was Richard Simmons didnt? Wierd!

Spiders creep me out, but I like them because of that. Plus they are very helpful in controlling insect populations. Won't mess with one if I see it, but black widows get it on sight for obvious reasons.
