GIANT BOWL of FAIL, audioque and ups

got my componentes from ups on friday needless to say it looked like they played football with the box, and one of the mids was cracked to hell. they are a joke, i will never use them again!

It's impossible for any of my songs to clip since the bass never goes past -3dB. Any clipping your seeing is mild distortion on the vocals. I'm not as **** about clipping as someone like DJ slow n throw is, because the problem you run into is you have songs with weak bass lines and songs with heavy bass lines. Of course this is dependent on your gain setting, but if you set your gains for the quieter songs to make up for the fact of them being not as loud, now you can't safely play the louder songs. I make my songs just about as loud as you can go without sacrificing too many vocals so that way you can set your gains to that and not have to worry about a song being too high of a volume for your setup.

And to tony, find me some songs of mine that are clipping. Not that fraction of a second crap, I'm talking enough clipping to potentially damage your equipment.

So much fail, was all excited for my amp to arrive today. Only to get an email from UPS saying they didnt have enough information to delivery my package. Meaning the guys at Audioque decided not to list my apartment number on the label. When my invoice CLEARLY has an apartment number.

On top of that UPS 1800 sends me to some facility for pick up, just for them to tell me driver wont return till about 9pm tonight. So i see if they can tell me where he is so i can hunt him down myself, bastard wont pick up the phone.... SO MUCH FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't blame UPS, I would be a little perturbed at AQ for lack of info on the delivery ticket. But who knows where the ball got dropped? I am sure you will receive it very soon!

I live literally less than a mile from the cities main distribution center...so naturally my apartment is always the LAST on the route and I have to wait until around 7-8pm for any packages from UPS //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rage.gif.0ad8a6e5565b5fddce406566fdd05149.gif

UPS and Fedex have both "attempted to deliver" packages to my house claiming that they knocked and rang the door bell but no one answered. which is crazy, cause I work from home haha I have literally been home for every single package and waiting for the sound of the truck, so I can run up and see it, and yet they somehow weren't able to get my attention with a knock or a door bell?

Ant that up a bouta bitch

But i also saw flickering on some produced tracks too, like on relax and take notes- 8ball and MJG but that songs sick too haha
Some flickering is fine, just try to avoid solid red, especially for long periods. Gotta remember the lows draw the most power, so if your voltage is dropping that could cause clipping

Not to sound harsh but if you are looking for great deals by ordering online or from online classifieds you are gonna have to deal with the pain that come from shipping. It's just how it is. Fortunately I live in good 'ole middle of nowhere Wisconsin and all the delivery people are actually really nice and actually CARE that you get your package.

See thats my questions is how much clipping is enough to damage my sub? cuz the amps gain is low(at half on 2V preouts) so im not clipping the amp itself at all. But my battery is shot, so im wondering if that has something to do with it. Im replacing my battery today i believe. What should i go with? yellow top???

My old 2200's light would flicker like a light show but it does not tell u if its a soft clip, etc so I never cared. I set it with a dmm "i know not full proof" but I never had an issue.
Thats what ive been thinking! If i didnt have the clip light ide just DMM it and play, i did that this round but at high volumes(decaf tunes are the worth about it) that **** light flickers and goes solid for a second or 2 on hardbass lines. But i wouldnt have even know if it wasnt for the light, so is it really enough to mess up my sub?

Unfortunately the answer to that is relative to a lot of things in your setup. If you're pushing your subs pretty hard to begin with, a small amount of clipping will do more damage. If your subs aren't being pushed very hard, it will take more clipping to damage them. IMO, you're more likely to run into issues with clipping by turning up your headunit too much, using some kind of bass boost, setting your gains past what the amp is rated at, and voltage drop that causes the amp to dip into clipping.

With that being said, the songs that I remix have so little clipping they won't affect anything. If your clip light keeps coming on, you may be turning up your headunit volume too high and causing clipping (alpine's usually start to clip at volume 30, and headunits that go to volume 60+ tend to clip around 48-49, but that is just a general rule of thumb)
