aight this is the deal...currently i have no head unit, no amps, and 1 sub (15" RE XXX) i had it ported @ 32hz in a 5cuft box and i did not like the sound most of the time im thinkin about goin with 4 jl w6v2's powered by what im not sure im lookin at eclipse/alpine/pioneer head units...i like how the eclipse have the higher voltage preamp outs but im not sure if its really worth it...i want to have the capabilities to rattle my neighbors nose hairs when i come down the street(I ONLY SAID THE CAPABILITY TO DO THAT!) but i want it to sound GREAT at the same time any ideas are helpful and appreciated

my questions are

1. should i stick with the 15" XXX and just use a different enclosure?

2. which deck should i go with im lookin to spend ~ 500 for a really nice deck?

3. which amps to power the subs?

4. what mids/highs to go with to finish off the system?

you should check out the classifieds there lots of great stuff.

1. Yes i would (pm me a price if you wanna sell it)

2.Alpine has nice decks at that price.Wait till CC get there eclpise decks go there to check them out.

3. What kind of budget?

4.there a pair of RE comps in the classifieds for 150shipped. I think there was some XXX's form DBfan too. Check those out

im tryin to keep the amp cheap..i had a hifonics 1500d but a few people were tellin me it wasnt powerful enough and that could have been one of the reasons i didnt like the sound

for right now im gonna stay with XXX...so i gotta get an amp for that and probably an eclipse deck...

-sub - 15" RE XXX

-head unit - eclipse (unsure of which model...any suggestions...must be mp3 cd and my deck is gonna be the most expensive piece of my system...probably around what i paid for the sub)

-comps - lookin into the RE speakers

im gonna put the XXX in a sealed enclosure...im guessin around 2 cuft correct?

its gonna be inverted in the trunk of my maxima

a buddy of mine gets sound stream amps pretty cheap so im gonna look into them also

if you want to stick with the hifonics, try the BX2005D, it should put out around 1800 at 1 ohm

ill end up with either the soundstream or hifonics...both say they put out 2000watts im lookin at the PCA2000d from soundstream and the hifonics bx2005d...for the head unit im gonna have to cut back my budget on that is now 200-300$ for the best i can get...im lookin for an mp3 cd player thats gonna put out some decent sound...any ideas?

i myself run hifonics amps so go with the hifonics they are alittle over rated but it's ok i love mine and you will love yours:naughty:

bx2005d's can be had for cheap, just gotta find them at the right time...i got mine for 200 shipped, excellent condition except for a surface scratch on the top

2 cubes is too small for a 15....

try something more like 3.5-4.5

if you wont a good deck check out Panasonic. i have a 7401-u and it is about the best for your buck. It even has a 5v preamp out put.

the subs gonna be in a sealed box not a ported...i didnt like the way the ported worked out for me...possibly builder error or just not the right size box and tuned wrong but it was a 5cuft box tuned to 32hz...and i didnt like the sound 50% of the time

if that's in response to me, i know that......2 cubes sealed is too small.....you'll want @ least 3....more around 3.5 to 4 if you can fit it

Guys on here are selling Lanzar opti 2000d's which from what i hear are dead nuts 2k watts....(i think @ 1 ohm)

lanzar? i thought they were a no name brand that sucked? also RE audio says 2cuft is the recommended size for the enclosure...y would i want a box that big(they recommend ported enclosures to be about 4cubes for this sub)

from personal experience...maybe just my tastes.....but re's rec. boxes are always too small......and i've used every series of sub they have made minus the MT

for my xxx15 i used a 3.5cube sealed box....and a 4.5 ported and 6.3 ported.....also tried them in rec. box sizes.....the 3.5 was def a better box for the xxx than the 2....same w/ teh ported...
