gettin a new dog ftw

Kill your ex wire FTW.

Great danes will get 4' 6'' easy. They arent very muscular dogs though and because they are so large, they tend to have bone and muscular problems sooner than most other breeds of dogs, so be prepared for that (well if you wanted a long lasting, healthy dog you would get a pure, all out mutt...they prove to be the healthiest). Other than that, you are getting a $900 dog free.

Great Danes require constant exercise... walks every day (helps with the inherint bone and muscular disease and keeps them from getting bored)... They are very smart and loyal dogs tho.

nice! i was gonna ask if he was deaf.. being white and all. cool that you got him instead of him being culled at birth.
he's the only dog i've ever owned that i didnt have to do any work with at all. the only dog i could leave inside when i left the house and know when i came home he'd jus be chillin on the couch. he walked perfectly on a leash only time he ever had an accident in the house was when he was having stomach issues and couldnt get outside in time, only issue i had with him is if i let him climb up into bed he'd wedge himself between my ex and myself and push against me and try to push me off the bed.

you would be correct. i took mine on a 4 mile walk everyday anyways.

Got a phone call, and my uncle found me a dog, since our two old dogs died (old age)Iam gettin a Great Dane. He said it weighed about 200lbs and was almost as tall as he is, but he said it is very gentle, best of all, it's free! Its registered, spayed, has all the papers. Should have it in a week or two, it is in Indianapolis (sp) and Iam in KY.

Anyone know if they are good watch dogs? I am sure it would be real intimidating to look at.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif
Great Danes FTW

We've got one, I think she's about two years old. She barks when people come to the door at home but she'll usually just go and greet them when they come in, so they aren't really attack dogs or anything. She does really good in car rides. We just started leaving her inside when we go places and we've yet to come home to a destroyed couch or anything *knocks on wood*. I don't know if all danes are this way, but ours is just about scared of everything. If she's asleep in the living room and you shut the door on the refrigerator too hard, she jumps like she's being shot at.

Yeah, just want a dog that will bark when people come down the drive way.

I live on 90 acres of woods that are filled with animals. Surely the thing will chase after some deer or something and get exercise on a daily basis. I would say it is about as big as a deer lol.

My uncle often exagerates, so it may not be 200 pounds because he said it is pretty skinny.

and why would you pay $1200 for an undesirable coat pattern.. merle cant be shown and shouldnt be bred... they used to be culled like solid white dogs
now that i think of it, its been so long since i've looked at the definition of coat patterns i could be saying the wrong one.
