Got a phone call, and my uncle found me a dog, since our two old dogs died (old age)

Iam gettin a Great Dane. He said it weighed about 200lbs and was almost as tall as he is, but he said it is very gentle, best of all, it's free! Its registered, spayed, has all the papers. Should have it in a week or two, it is in Indianapolis (sp) and Iam in KY.

no they are not. very gentle people loving breed. intimidating tho which is enough imo

those dogs are fricken huge...i see this same one all the time @ work (i work at petsmart, yeh) and to tell you the truth. if i was standing there alone and the dog ran up at me, i would probably shit my pants, no lie.

My uncle said that this one is close to 5 feet tall, but I think he is exagerrating (sp) a little.

the average dane should be 32" or taller at the shoulders. add another foot or so for their head and your looking at a tall dog.

They are great watch dogs... meaning they will watch out for shit and alert you with some barking.. but they aren't guard dogs that will get all crazy and attack people (at least they shouldn't be)..

and of course a dog of that size is a visual deterrent

i used to have a pretty small dane, and when he'd jump up on the fense he looked me eye to eye, and im 6'2"

mine was almost solid white, had a black patch around his eye and one on his rear hip let me see if i can dig up a pic of him

mine was deaf, and had some other problems(skin problems and stomach issues)

definatly miss my dogs. the ex wife got rid of them after she kicked me out. got rid of the great dane, my malamute, and the long haired dog u see in that picture.
