so my buddy tells me that bridging does nothing (theres no difference in bass) if you bridge a 2 channel amp. i say that it does because indeed i have my 2 channel amp bridged. who is right?

you basically... your amp puts out alot more power bridged.... what type of an amp is it?

tell him he's a douche bag. well the power output should double going from 4 ohm stereo to 4 ohm mono.

Depends on what we're comparing.

A 4ohm stereo load is equivalent in power to an 8ohm mono load. Obviously, however, the mono loud wouldn't be able to play stereo sound.

So if you have two dual 2ohm subwoofers, but your amplifier is not 2ohm bridged stable, there would be no difference between running a 4ohm load per channel, or a single 8ohm load bridged to the amplifier.

It's not as simple as you make it sound.

You have to know the equipment being used to judge the outcome.

You can't just make a open ended stament so vague as that.
