Genesis VS SNES Or any other Nostalgia gaming

Don't get me wrong, there was no way I wanted a 3DO alone...Only just for a few games, Road Rash (which is fine on the PS1), wing commander 3, Super Street Fighter 2, and that's about it.
Same with Neo Geo, really only wanted a few games...LOL that they cost $100 to $150 back then, but **** you would've had the arcade at your home!!!

What happened to arcades being the powerhouse of games...now they're just windows machines or the home consoles running the game //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
actually a NEW neo geo game was anywhere from 175-$400 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

For ne geo games i had

Art of fighting 1/2

Fatal Fury 2/special

sengoku

Baseball stars 2

Riding hero

world heros 2

Last resort

Magician lord

metal slug 1-3

Like I said Funco used to have hella good deals on the games cuz noone ever bought them.. I think i paid $80 for 1/2 of those mentioned and between 100-150 for the other half...

Sad thing... You can buy the SNK collection for ps2 which looks about the same, for $15 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif .. So new, thats about $2500 in games .. for $15 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

Yeah, but at least you have the actual system and games, which is pretty badass!!

However, I have that collection for my PSP and it's ****ing great. It also has samurai shodown FTW!

thought i put that, guess not, Had Samauri showdown 2. awesome game. I was a big fighting/shooter fan back then.. And for the most part is what neo geo made very well.. Viewpoint and Last resort were probably the hardest games ive ever played

Yah but at least TurboGraphx 16 had a couple good games like Bonk. The 3DO was a lot like the PS3(on launch) way over priced($700!!! in 1993) with no exclusive games worth mentioning.

That wasnt over priced, this was over priced!

The Pioneer LaserActive was a short-lived Laserdisc-based game console released by Pioneer in 1993. In addition to LaserActive games, separately sold add-on modules (referred to as "PAC" by Pioneer) expanded the hardware to include compatibility with the Sega Mega Drive/Sega Genesis and PC Engine/TurboGrafx 16 game cartridges and HuCards and CDs.

The Pioneer CLD-A100 system was released in Japan on August 20, 1993 at a cost of ¥89,800 and in the United States on September 13, 1993 at a cost of $970 US.

Sega PAC

Pioneer Electronics (USA) and Sega Enterprises released this module that allows users to play 8-inch and 12-inch LaserActive Mega LD discs, in addition to the hundreds of existing SEGA-CD and Genesis titles, as well as standard CD+G discs. It was the most popular add-on bought by the greater part of the LaserActive owners, costing roughly US$ 600.

So to play Sega games it cost $970 + $600, or $1570 in 1993!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

And yes, I own one with the Sega PAC.

But it was well ahead of its time.. the graphics in some of them games were new ps2 levels, and the sound was better than anything the ps2 had.. 5+ yrs later

Not with regular Sega games, it was pretty much the same.

The one time I saw an example of a laserdisc based game, Pyramid Patrol (I think) it was better, but Pioneer only made 6 laserdisc games, and I dont own any.

The only real advantage was it was the only Sega console with a digital output so you can run it into a HT receiver for Dolby surround.

It is a great CD player though, really heavy.

I love good graphics and its always something you look forward to in a new system, but yea, kiddies now are all about online multiplayer and what can i sync to my ps3 from my iphone, or what movies can i DL on my system.. The problem is they are not video game systems anymore.. They are entertainment systems //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
Oh yeah don't get me wrong, I love the entertainment idea of a console. I have 500GB ps3 with tons of movies and music. So the all in one idea is nice, and so is the netflix idea. I just hate when they do games it's like this: " this or this has the best graphics, so the game is gonna be the best!" I also hate how expensive games become since the snes days. Also did pay full retail on my ps3 on day one, but I do miss games being included with the system.

Which is way I hope they don't even consider a new console until 2013/14. I'm not in a rush at all.

pro wrestling from original nintendo
That is the shit. That is the first game me and my brother got with the nintendo for christmas.

Tysons puchout was another we spent way too much time playing. Tecmobowl and super tecmo all good times.

Also did lots of time on goldeneye and nwo wrestling on the n64, having 4 controllers was the shit and always a blast to play against your friends.
