G'day from Sydney Australia.

Being just over 50, have been delving into car audio for the past 30 odd years as I always had a passion for electronics.  I have he opportunity to buy, sell, test many car audio equipments including head units, speakers, subwoofers, amplifiers, equilizers, and also done my car audio installations including fabrication and box building which I learned through reading and the old Car Audio and Electronics Magazines which I used to await eagerly at the newstands back in those days. :)

I love old school car audio gear, still running Boston components (splits) they call them in Australia.  PPI PC450 amplifier and a pair of Boston Acoustics 12.5LF subwoofers.  I visited US in 2014 and bought myself a Phoenix Gold RX1100.1 amp from Mikes Autosound in Elk Grove, California.  He also showed me some demo cars he had on the premises. Was a top guy who listened to my request then made a recommendation on the amp and he gave it to me at a good price. I used to run an old School Rockford Fosgate 800a2 but it kept triggering my circuit breaker when I used to demo my vehicle.  The CLASS D is also easy on the electrical current so that is main reason I switched to CLASS D for subwoofer amp.

My current ride is a small SUV , a Mitsubishi ASX, I have done an infinite baffle subwoofer install since I travel to my remote work location which is 5.5 hours away monthly so It became imperative that I had access to my boot area.  I could have installed a boxed subwoofer system but the price of gas is not as cheap as in the US so it provides the best of both worlds to have a subwoofer system install.  :suave:

Anyway, happy to join you all and share my knowledge and expertise where required.    I don't buy new gears anymore but I do tend to keep an eye out for current trends by visiting some car shows where I see a neat trunk install.  We still have lots of car audio products here, including US brands and we also have some UK brands like VIBE audio and also some European brands like Audison, MB Quart, (Orignally from Germany but now made by Maxonics that makes Hifonics as well - not good as the old gear IMHO)

Anyway, thanks for reading my article and shoot me an email anytime.
