Gas ****

well. i'll admit it. free gas for me.
but for all those that don't know, here's a little lesson.

Don't get mad at the gas stations, they are not making any money off of gas sales. I promise you that. I know, my parents own 2 gas stations. Whatever price the gas is at the pump, our cost is about 4 to 5 cents less per gallon. After paying for the pumps, tanks, and all systems, the electricity to run it, and the man hours involved, we actually lose money on gas.

The only reason that stations keep gas is so when you fill up on gas, you come in and buy that drink and candybar and what not while your there. thats where money is made.
Depends, relatives on my mom's side of the family own (and have gotten pretty wealthy) off of owning gas stations. Trust me, they did not get rich off Bob buying a snickers each time he filled up. Recently, it has been tough to make profit on gas, but it hasnt always been that way and it wont always be that way.

if you have an oxygen sensor in your van, you might want to replace it with a new one. i replaced mine and it gave me a lot better gas mileage. i get around 100 miles on a quarter tank.

also, if you have a clogged catalytic converter just take it off and knock out all the shit in it. more hp and better mpg.

As I recall, O2 sensors aren't exactly cheap to have replaced. I could try out the catalytic converter thing, I do know my exhaust is rusted to hell.

Depends on how gas stations are pricing their product. Some price on speculation while others change prices on how much the gas cost them. Then you have those that look at what their competitor is pricing at and just match it.
We have never charged more than 10 cents over price on gas, or diesel.

and, to whoever said that their family members owned one, go talk to them, they didn't make the money off of gas.

The thing we have going, is that our store is a general store. We have groceries, hardware, and logging supplies all in one place. It is really like stepping back in time. so cool though. We make hydraulic hoses, sell all the fluids and oils for equipment, and stuff like that. We are also dealers of stihl power equipment (chainsaws, weedeaters, blowers, hedgers, etc....) and shindaiwa brush cutters, and we service everything we sell.

I love it, and working there never has bothered me. My dad opens the doors a 4:30 to 5:00 every weekday morning for the loggers. They fill up on diesel and stuff, and buy their hydraulic fluid and all. close up at 7. both of my parents are full time there, along with 3 other employees and me.

mine was $40. Now I need a MAP sensor which is going to cost $140.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
Wow $140 for a MAP sensor? My MAP sensor cost me like $45 bucks and my brother's O2 sensor cost him over $400...

I'd imagine the shop vac puts out more torque in the lower rev-range.

Ok. bandwaggoner.... Y'all must have no clue. Come for a ride in mine one day, you will never talk bad about them again.... **** nice, and very very fast cars.

If you find me a piston engine that puts out the same power per pound that a rotary does, I'll give you credit. but your not going to. A rotary is light enough that I can bend over and pick up the block with the a/c and alternator taken off. And its making well over 200hp, without turbo, or anything. And it is only 1.3litres.......
