The problem is the latch. If you open the cover and leave it open, no rattle. If you touch the latch to the pin that holds it in, that is when the rattling starts.

Try wrapping the striker with electrical tape....

ya i got this same problem on my camry dont kno wat to do about it but i'll try the tape thing
