gas cap question! quick!

im just wondering if its bad to not have a gas cap while driving.

will it do any harm at all?

yeah. if you have no gas cap on. most cars will throw the CEL on. or not run right.

I know in my truck the gas cap has to be securly sealed or the Check Engine light will come on

My car runs fine and doesn't do anything without the gas cap on...you just lose gas due to evaporation. Also, you run the risk of things getting in your tank.

You're fine to drive to autozone and grab a new cap though.

Ive done it in a couple vehicles and never had a problem. Didnt realize either time until later, once I found out I went and picked one up though.

yeah went i first got my car it just had a rag stuffed in it, i went straight to autozone and got a locking one for like 6 bucks
