The only reason you don't get viruses on a Mac is because only 3% of all consumer computers run OSX, where 94% run Windows. The other 3% are freeware OS's such as Linux. It would be pointless to make a virus to only infect 3% of consumer computers, go big or go home! I've had my desktop for somewhere around 3 years and never had a virus. You just have to be smart about it and you won't have a problem. Of all the PC's in my household (roughly 10 that get used daily) in the past 5 years only one of them has had a virus and that was because my 13 y/o brother decided to "investigate" more about female anatomy on the internet. I'm an IT major and have been building and playing with computers since I was 10, which is another reason I dislike Macs-the lack of hardware flexibility. Not to forget you're paying somewhere around $1000-$3000 depending on the actual computer for a pretty white apple on the side/back. The price for them is absolutely ridiculous. Whatever floats your goat though, if that's what you wanna spend (*cough* waste) your money on, you go ahead. No skin off my balls
