So we are doing an install in a 2010 camaro where we wanted to keep stock head unit.
so to get rca jacks for the amp we needed a adaptor since the factory boston acoustic system has comp speakers that we couldn't just tap into with a line output converter.
So we read online and ordered this.
Subthump 5th Gen Add an Amp T-Harness for 2010 Camaro
Hook everything up and amp kept going into protect after 3 seconds. After some testing I decided to do a little test and ran the rca jack directly into a speaker and what do you know. It played.
All they did was tap into the factory headunits hi-level speaker output and solder rca jacks onto it.
Made me quite mad as it was suppose to tap into a low level preout which apparently doesnt even exist. To get it to work we had to cut the rca jacks off and wiring in a line output converter. And now we finally have sound.
