This is the box we are have been building. This is the first time either of us have built a box.

It's designed for a Digital Designs 9917b to be powered by an IA 20.1 running at .5 ohm.

The box is around 9 cubes tuned at 40 hz with double baffling on top for sure and possibly dowels.

Tools used:

Power drill

1/8" bit

1" spade hole bit

Circular saw

Jigsaw

1 1/4" Wood Screws (not drywall)

Wood glue

Silicone Caulk

2 cans black spray paint

clamps (2 huge 24" and 2 corner clamps) and

2 chairs

Here are some pictures:

First, the sub.

These things are huge

These are all the cut pieces and 1 big extra piece.

We (Sean) screwed up the measurement.

Finally, after about 4 more goes around with the jigsaw

Our first joint...

View from the top without the baffles

View from the bottom, without the bottom. You can see where the port will be.

That's it for now. We'll probably have some more later.

Comments are cool.

We don't have many plans for bracing. We are thinking about some dowels going from the top, through the port piece to the bottom, though, because that sub is really heavy.

that sub needs more then one 20.1 nice box though
Yeah, I would love to pick up the 40.1 that's for sale right now, but I dont have to money for it at the moment cuz I still have to get a ho alt and all the electrical. I hoping the 20.1 will put out around 2000-2500 at 0.5 ohm on a very solid electrical, but who knows...

yea but that thing will laugh at 2500 watts man my DD9512f takes my ZX2500.1 like nothing

As far as bracing goes, we are for sure double baffling the top of the box. Other than that, we are playing around with the idea of using four dowels around the sub to support the top. However, we dont really have any ideas about side flexing, and we hadn't even thought about supporting the port except for using a piece with two 45 degree angles to connect the port to the front, on the inside of the box on top of the port, if that made any sense. Ideas for side flex and port flex? On a sidenote, what brand ho alts do you guys recommend?
