Fuses?

I'm a little confused about fuse ratings. The AGU fuse near the battery in specific, should it be the same amp rating as the sum of the fuses on the Amp itself? ( Sub amp talk ) Or does it need to be higher? or lower? for some reason. I'm assuming it should be the same, but I'm new to this..

There are two 20 amp plug fuses on the back of my Dual amp, the AGU fuse near the battery should that be 40 amps, or would a 60 amp work, but be shady?

The fuse on the wire is meant to protect the wire from shorts and too much power running through it to start a fire/melt it. I'd make sure it is at least 8g. 10g is too small for 300watts. I'm not familiar with 8g. Maybe a 50 amp fuse?

Its better if the fuse is higher if it was lower you would blow it. Youll be fine with a 60
And if its higher he could light his car on fire //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

50A fuse.

50A fuse.
I doubt 50 and 60a would make that much of a difference would it? I guess I was wrong

Well, it's 8 gauge, rubber jacketed, heavy duty wiring. 60 should be fine?
I have been using a 60A fuse and my fuses on the amp were 2 20s as well

Maybe this was a dumb idea I dont know? wait for someone else to chime in I dont want to give you bad info

The guide I go by limits 8 gauge at 55A, at a length of 20 feet. I'd rather be on the safe side and blow a fuse than go over the capacity of the wire.

Yeah you're right

Its like a dollar for a fuse just get the right thing

The reason is I can't find anywhere locally that caries 40/50 amp fuses, only 60. And with my only running ~ 12-14 feet of 8 gauge wire, I was hoping 60 would be alright.
