fuses popping

my amp has a 150 amp external fuse, should i have the same fuse size for my power cord r can it be bigger?

can use bigger, i use 150 amp and i run close to 3000 watts though, shouldnt be blowing 150

so I can use 250-300 for the power cord and not have to worry about the 150 in the amp

I would check my grounds too. 1700 watts is not a whole lot, I would go 150 amp fuse from the battery to the amp and no more.At 14.4 volts, you should never pull more than 120 (118 actually) amps no matter what. Don't forget that fuses are to protect, so don't go much higher than your rated amplifier output. You really need a higher fuse though
