I lied about the pics. They're coming tomorrow.

So yeah I've got my Mach 5 MAW-12 in a 4th order sittin in the corner of my room. It sounds nice and all, but it's a plain ol MDF box, and its fugly sittin over there. So, seeing that mirror-smooth box thread inspired me.

I went to home depot, got a can of gray primer, flat black paint, glossy black paint, and gloss. I also got wood filler, a putty knife and some sanding pads (no electrical sander here ftl) I'm not going for a mirror finish as the other boxes, just want this one to look a hair nicer.

Tomorrow, I'm gonna remove all the screws from the box, and use wood filler in all the holes. Then, I'm gonna sand that bish down with a coarse sanding pad and get all the rough edges out, then smooth it out with a fine sanding pad. Next, I'm gonna use the entire can of primer on it, and make it thiiiick. Next, put on the entire can of flat black, then glossy black, and finish it with the gloss. Pics tomorrow.

u might want more than the one can of primer, MDF sucks up real bad. And i would have bought some metal glaze over wood filler, it sands smoother and doesnt shrink as bad. Last with gloss black, while you are sanding make sure u are completely flat at all times. I read an interesting article where on the edges of the mdf put some drywall compound on there.

They really do hold the box together somewhat, no matter what "some" people say. Even with a good glue job.
