Fukkin Mavericks...

He could be if he was more consistent. I did say 'could'
Yeah it definitely could be rough for the future, but with free agency being what it is, they probably wouldnt have been able to keep Harris anyways. I still dont like the draft picks but you cant have it all.

I am a Lakers fan at heart. I lived in LA before I moved to Dallas. But Dallas is definitely my second favorite team.

I loved Majerle in Phoenix. Met him with my dad and his buddy that lives in Phoenix when I was like 12. Still have the autographed game jersey. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Phoenix was the first place I ever saw a game live but dont care for them so much anymore.

I will always be a fan of the Lakers and Mavs though.
I can't see Terry ever being that caliber of a player, but who knows. I just found it funny, sorry.

Can't say I didn't like the Lakers when Johnson, Jabar, Worthey were all playing. Was a lot of fun to watch them play.

Also YOU ****! I wish I had a Majerle jersey signed! I did see them play live in Cleveland years and years ago. Well, not that long ago, just seems forever ago.

Trade was useless, Mavs wouldn't be able to make it past the Lakers or San Antonio. Hell, I would still bet money that Portland or New Orleans would trample them.

San Antonio is struggling this year and without the trade they wouldnt have beaten the Lakers or Phoenix anyways. They are thrashing Portland right now. And while New Orleans is having a good year, they are too young to make much of a run in the playoffs. So your argument is moot.

Devean George has a no trade clause in his contract and word is that he blocked the trade. So it is on hold and that is why all the people who were supposed to be involved in the trade are playing right now.
Just saw that. Could be an interesting development.

Hmmm, I guess you didn't watch the playoffs last year. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif the Warriors beat Dallas last year. They were just as young. +/- a few years. Shocking news isn't it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

Last year is not this year is it? You really think San Antonio is in the Top 3 in the West? Can I have some of what you are smoking?

Edit: I guess you werent talking about San Antonio so disregard.

Also I like the trade b/c they lost in the playoffs. What point are you trying to make?

Marion was playing Small foward, but essentially is a PF. Guy could play center if he wanted too. He bangs against big people night in and night out. He is younger, faster and smarter with the ball than shaq is now, plus all the money they spent on him, when they just could have kept Kurt Thomas and been better off. Shaq wants to prove himself, if he ever gets over this injury, but I don't think he will be able to keep pace with them. Also Stodamire was doing fine at Center. They say he can't hang with other centers in the league, but seems to be doing just fine everytime I watch him play. Just a terrible trade for the suns. Great for Miami though. They would be stupid if they don't resign him.
Marion could not play center if he wanted to and neither can Amare. You know who was the happiest person in Phoenix when they got Shaq? Amare. He hates playing center and has said in public that his body has been banged up really badly because of having to bang against bigger centers. If you think Amare is good as a center, watch him when he gets to play PF again. But neither of them are well suited to play center.

Carter was considered a superstar before injuries slowed him down. Hell the guy still puts up decent numbers and has been an all-star how many times? Jefferson should have been one this year. He is playing excellent.
Carter was considered an All-Star before "injuries" slowed him down. Since his career began in Toronto (I say this as a Raptors fan), he has been picking and choosing when he plays hard. He is a lazy player who can't make important shots but is famous for the 2000 dunk contest and "French Toast." But he is a perennial all-star because NBA fans love the highlight reel and that's all he's good for...or at least was good for when he drove the lane. Now he floats. But you're **** right on Jefferson.

San Antonio is totally top 3 in the west in the playoffs where it matters.

I dont see it that way this year but you never know.

Personally I think Dallas, Phoenix, LA and possibly Utah, Denver or New Orleans all would have a chance against them.

These days its all about match-ups. Exactly why Golden State beat the Mavs last year but couldnt beat anyone else.

Golden State can beat the Mavs all day everyday. When you pit two teams with styles so similar, you might as well flip a coin.

But what happened when the Warriors played the Jazz? The Jazz could do the fast-break but, most importantly, they can execute in the half-court, get boards, and play defense. THAT is the reason teams like the Mavs, Warriors, and Suns don't win championships...because they can't do those things consistently. It's also the reason teams like the Spurs, Pistons, and teams with Shaq have every championship for the last 10 years.

The Spurs are a better team in the playoffs than almost anyone in the West. But I do see LA giving them a good run.

That was exactly my point about it being matchups. And I totally agree with the defense part. Phoenix has Shaq who still has great D, The Lakers are pretty solid all around defensively and if the Mavs get Kidd who has been on a couple all defense teams. The other teams just being a possible since the Spurs are getting older.
