Kidd is going to be out of the league in 3-4 years...Harris is the fastest developing PG in the league, playing hella good, and absolutely owning Tony Parker whenever they face each other. He makes Parker look slow, and no one else in the league can do that.

Not saying he wasnt good or going to be great. No doubt this is a trade for the short term. But you have to stay competitive within your league. And they had to do something to the team. They have proven time and again they cant win in the playoffs. Kidd can definitely help there.

Im on your side man. I love the Mavericks. Is it an ideal trade? No way. But they HAD to do something.

There arent a lot of great players out there at the deadline.

Is obvious the Mavs can care less about the future, they want to win now and maybe next year. After that, they will struggle. Actually it might hurt them now, but I heard they were doing a seperate trade to pick up Antoine Wright from the Nets as well, which will add decent depth to their roster. Plus they got Malik Allen, how is a bigger presence. I don't think it was a horrible trade. I personally think the Shaq/Marion trade was more confusing, but whatever, I just wish LeBron could get some help! However if Larry Hughes can play like old Larry Huges we would be straight.

Also to reference what you said about Kidd not winning any championships is odd, cause he did have decent talent around him in Carter, Jefferson, Kristic and others. They must not gel togehter well or something. Same amount as Kidd, but it was 2 years ago, not 8...Kidd hasn't done anything in the playoffs recently.

Marion was playing Small foward, but essentially is a PF. Guy could play center if he wanted too. He bangs against big people night in and night out. He is younger, faster and smarter with the ball than shaq is now, plus all the money they spent on him, when they just could have kept Kurt Thomas and been better off. Shaq wants to prove himself, if he ever gets over this injury, but I don't think he will be able to keep pace with them. Also Stodamire was doing fine at Center. They say he can't hang with other centers in the league, but seems to be doing just fine everytime I watch him play. Just a terrible trade for the suns. Great for Miami though. They would be stupid if they don't resign him.

I am a cavs/suns/warriors fan. Have been since I was young. Always liked Dan Marjele from the Suns and Chris Mullin from the Warriors. I was never a big Barkley fan to be honest. He did more with the Sixers anyway. I like the Cavs being I have lived near Cleveland most of my life and got most of their games.

Yeah it definitely could be rough for the future, but with free agency being what it is, they probably wouldnt have been able to keep Harris anyways. I still dont like the draft picks but you cant have it all.

I am a Lakers fan at heart. I lived in LA before I moved to Dallas. But Dallas is definitely my second favorite team.

I loved Majerle in Phoenix. Met him with my dad and his buddy that lives in Phoenix when I was like 12. Devean George has a no trade clause in his contract and word is that he blocked the trade. So it is on hold and that is why all the people who were supposed to be involved in the trade are playing right now.
