i got in a wreck on October 7, and has been at the dealership getting fixed since the 10th, it was supposed to be ready for me today, but when i called them today to tell them im coming to pick it up they told me i cant because the windsheild was cracked and had to be replaced....this "crack" is about 1 inch long on the bottom passenger side of the windsheild (barely even ****ing noticable). So they apparently dont put windsheilds on so they had to call someone who couldnt do it today....So instead of having my car this weekend I have to wait until monday (they said maybe even tuesday!!) ****ing idiots, they had the car for almost 2 weeks and they just realized the windsheild had a crack in it....so furious. The thing that really pisses me off is my mom has been taking me to work every morning and picking me up every afternoon. And she still has to take me to work......[/rant]

i just fragged my pinion gear in my rear end. going to cost about 800 bucks to get that fixed. its sitting in my driveway no, getting towed about 20 miles on wednesday morning to get some 3.73's put in, should have it back thursday.

No, I hit him. It was a rainy day and he was infront of me by 3-4 car lengths, and he slams on brakes b/c theres a wreck on the other side of the road, then i hear his brakes lock up, then a second later i hear my brakes lock up, the next thing i know i hit the back of him, the only damage done to his car was that it knocked his muffler off.

i know it, but there arent really any performance shops around here and its the only place i trust to do something as difficult as gears. if not done just right, i'll just be replacing them again before too long, the way i drive. i know this shop will do a good job, and if they dont, they'll stand behind their work.

they're actually charging me 725, i just figured 800 because i have to have it towed up there too. about 350 of that is the gears and installation kit, the other 375 is labor, figure it takes about 3 hours to do it and it works out to around 125 an hour. pretty steep, but not grossly so.

also im not taking the rear out of the car for them, im having the car dropped off whole there.

he had no body damage???? just a broken muffler????

i cant see why they would have your car for 2+ weeks if the damage is compareble between the 2 cars...

also be glad he did see the crack, otherwise you'd be pissed to find it at a later date and be sol...

could it have been cracked before and ya didnt notice it ?

dude two weeks is nothing you should be glad its only been that long it took 32 days just to get the dash replaced in my girlfriends car after it got brokin into

so not much simpathy from me

My wife rear ended our Element on the Tuesday prior to Labor day, and we just got it back 2 weeks ago. They had it 28 WORKING DAYS. I WORK for the dealership that did the repairs. The damage was appx $4500, not like it was massive, just the core support area/hood, and a bunch of unpainted plastic bumper parts. The initial estimate was 8-9 working days. You need to chill. The body shop is the last place you want them to hurry, because a crappy repair now most likely won't be noticed until a couple years later when the paint falls off. Relax dude, there are lots of weekends.

no, we were both braking, so the rearend of his car went up in the air, and front end of mine went down, my hood was bent at a 90 degree angle, the ammount of damage totaled 2600.xx before the windsheild...the core support, radiator, headlights, upper/lower grille, A/C condenser and front bumper had to be replaced. And the crack was a result of the accident, but it was so small you honestly couldnt see it. It wouldnt have bothered me at all to have it there.
